WVRWA Emergency Water Treatment Plant Completed  ***See Video***

Wow!  What a difference a little elbow grease and some help from your friends can make.  WVRWA's second modular water treatment plant was completed just prior to the Annual Conference and was on display at Canaan Valley.  The transformation of this plant into becoming a totally mobile unit was a smashing success and was spearheaded by WVRWA Secretary Treasurer Darrell Wellman.   In addition to planning, coordinating, sanding, grinding, and welding, Darrell raised over $9,000 in private donations to help rehabilitate and retrofit the 100 gpm Neptune Microfloc unit.  Following the sandblasting and repainting, the plant was equipped with the latest in monitoring technology and pumping equipment. Working with Darrell in transforming the plant were Rob Weaver and Richard Smith of Lavalette PSD; and Jack McIntosh, Rick Dennison, Michael Hersman, and Mary Hutson of WVRWA.   The following businesses graciously contributed to the project and without their support this success story would not be possible:  Eastern Tank & Utility Service, Service Pump & Supply, Gould Pumps, E.L. Robinson Engineering Company, Sherwin Williams Paint, C.I. Thornburg Company, Hughes Supply, American Flow Control, W.C. Weil Company, Flynn Metering Systems, and Hach Company.  Thank you volunteers and sponsors for your support of WVRWA.  Your efforts will help West Virginia communities during times of great need in the months and years ahead.  A 2-minute video in Windows Media Player format showing the transformation of the plant dubbed "Water Boy" can be accessed by clicking here56K Modem users should use the right click and save as feature to view the movie as this file is 2.14 mb and download times range from two to three minutes.
