Accountant

Putnam Public Service District is seeking an Accountant. Must be able to perform with limited supervision and will be responsible to learn and implement all aspects of District’s financial procedures. Ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of accounting experience and have a BS degree from an accredited college or university with approximately 24 semester hours in accounting. Working knowledge of Public Service Commission of West Virginia system of accounts for water and wastewater utilities and experience in preparing the PSC of WV Annual Report is a plus. Water Treatment Plant Operator


The Weirton Area Water Board has an opening for a Water Treatment Plant Operator. Candidates with a minimum Class II or Class III WV water operator’s certification will be considered. Candidates must achieve a Class III certification in one year. Applicants must be willing to work shifts including weekends. A successful candidate must be able to pass a background check and a drug screening.

General Manager

Union Williams Public Service District, a water and sewer utility in Wood County West Virginia is accepting applications for the position of general manager. This is a highly responsible administrative and technical position responsible for directing all of the utility’s activities. The position involves overseeing the operations of the water and wastewater systems and the business office. It also involves budgeting, finance, project management, regulatory compliance, project development and oversight, risk management, and staffing and human resource oversight.

Necessary skills include leadership, knowledge of water and sewer treatment, water distribution and sewer collection, regulatory requirements for West Virginia water and sewer utilities, knowledge of West Virginia Public Service Commission rules and regulations, people management and communication skills, asset management, risk management, budgeting and finance, formulating and implementing policies and customer service.  This position reports directly to a Utility Board of Directors. It is an overtime exempt position that is periodically required to work more than 40 hours per week.
